Testimonies

Natalie is a true advocate for her students and colleagues.  Working with her for the last two years, I have witnessed her compassion for her students especially toward the ones who are less privileged and faced with any kinds of hardships.  She is also the one who has represented the staff voice and made sure any decisions at school are equitable and made with sufficient staff input.  I wholeheartedly support her candidacy for the Board of Education and have no doubt that she will persevere for the students and teachers at MCPS.

An oversight body like the Board of Education should have input and awareness about all levels of how a school system works. With all of the recent revelations about bullying in the school system, it seems obvious that we need the perspective of a recent teacher like Natalie Zimmerman who knows what it is like to balance the demands of our students, families, and administrators, and knows how vulnerable new teachers are in our current framework. Additionally, from getting to work with her over the past few weeks, I am impressed with her honesty, pragmatism, and desire to problem solve. For these reasons, I am thrilled not only to endorse Natalie Zimmerman for MCPS BOE, but also to reach out to friends, family, and community members to let them know this is a voice we absolutely need on the Board of Ed.

Natalie is a student-focused educator who thrives on the achievement and success of her students. She is an excellent educator and advocate for her students and I applaud her incredible dedication to serving educators. I worked with Natalie for many years and each year she developed an incredible understanding and commitment to the field of education. As a former MCEA Council of Teaching and Learning Representative, I have no doubt that she will advocate and champion the best for educators.

I would hate to see Natalie leave the Wheaton Woods community because she is an educational leader at our school, but I believe that she is the right candidate for the Board of Education. Natalie is student-focused and a data driven teacher.
